We work with our guests and try to get them refunds when possible, but we are a business that relies on occupancy; a cancelled visit is lost revenue. Booking fees are never refundable. With all guests, we try to find new occupants for the time you had reserved with us. If that cannot happen, we reserve the right to retain all monies paid to that date and to seek payment in full for your reservation. In most cases, however, we are able to book new guests.
Cancellations and reschedules may be made up to 30 days before the first day of your reservation. We are a business that relies on occupancy; a canceled visit is lost revenue. We are often able to backfill canceled reservations with new guests. In those cases, if you notified us 60 days or more that you needed to cancel, we may refund the total of your folio less booking fee OR all funds paid to date. Please note: even if you cancel 60 days or more before arrival, you will still be required to pay for your trip until we are able to backfill it. Between 30 and 60 days, we will try to refund up to half of your folio or what has been paid to date. After 30 days, no refund can be made. Please understand that we must set these policies because of past experiences and that ALL refunds are given at the discretion of the company. We do strive to be consistent with these guidelines.
POWER/ WEATHER RELATED CANCELLATION: STDVR does NOT issue refunds due to acts of nature such as: weather, road conditions, snow conditions, power outages or forest fires, but CSA Travel Protection Insurance does provide some protection against these instances. If the property is uninhabitable due to such circumstances and you did not purchase insurance, reservations can be rescheduled for future dates within one year of the reservation date.
You can always credit your full down payment toward a future reservation. Cancellations or reschedules made with less than 30 days’ notice will result in 100% loss of all payments. This loss can be avoided if CSA Travel Protection Insurance was purchased and the reason for cancellation is covered under the travel insurance policy. All reservation changes must be acknowledged in writing.
Because we don’t want you to be financially burdened, we now offer trip insurance. For less than 7 percent of your folio, you get:
– Recovery of all finances when qualified by the insurance company
– Medical coverage for injuries that occur on your trip
– Luggage protection and replacement for your trip
– Roadside assistance for most motoring problems
We highly recommend that all of our guests consider buying trip insurance, especially those booking far in advance for summer or winter rental seasons. We have seen many guests cancel because of unforeseen expenses, accidents, personal injuries or other life events that might prevent travel. Also, we are a company that specializes in beachfront properties – there’s always the chance of inclement weather affecting your trip. We cannot make refunds in the event of mandatory evacuations.
